Vertis Communications Receives Seven Honors in 22nd Annual Gold Ink Awards
Prestigious Print Industry Award Recognizes Vertis' Expertise
In ‘Sunday Magazines' and ‘Newspaper Inserts' Categories
Baltimore (Sept. 9, 2009)-Vertis Communications-a premier marketing services provider of targeted print advertising and direct marketing solutions to leading retail and consumer services companies-announced today in conjunction with Publishing Executive, Printing Impressions and Book Business magazines-co-sponsors of the Annual Gold Ink Awards-that the company has won seven awards for its print advertising work in the "Newspaper Inserts" and "Sunday Magazines" categories.
This year's Gold Ink Award winners were chosen from more than 1,000 entries submitted within 48 different categories. Winning pieces surpassed their competitors based on print quality, technical difficulty and overall visual effect.
Vertis received the highest honor, a Gold award for Fashion Boston-July 2008 (Globe Newspaper Company), a Sunday Magazine, which was uniquely designed to attract the fashion conscious consumer with its use of brilliant color and high gloss paper. In addition, Vertis was recognized with a Silver award for Aspire-Nov. 6, 2008 (Hartford Courant), a Bronze award for Fashion Boston-January 2009 (Globe Newspaper Company), and a Pewter award for Indulge-Spring Home and Garden (Hearst Corporation) all in the Sunday Magazines category.
Vertis also won three Pewter Gold Ink awards in the Newspaper Inserts category for its Siemens-Answers for Life (Quattro Marketing), Kansas Getaways (Madden Media), and Nash Finch-Feed Your Senses (Globe Newspaper Company) advertising insert campaigns.

The Annual Gold Ink Awards Banquet, held to honor the winners, will take place Monday evening, Sept. 14, at the Hyatt Regency at McCormick Place in Chicago-during PRINT 2009.
